ERP Implementation involving Strategic Management

The Strategic Management is a structure of plans or methods that helps in organizing the resources of an organization to achieve its panned objectives or goals. The Strategic management involves the Strategic planning as its first step, this step is the Prime and very important to analyze the current situation, position, etc., of an organization and plan its future objectives.

Roadmap ERP implementation process involves some steps of Strategic planning. As the Strategic planning helps an organization in analyzing its current position towards its goals and through a well defined structure, the ERP will help in achieving the organization's goal more effectively and efficiently.

The first step in ERP implementation involves the awareness planning with the Client's team. This is the Kick start stage where the organization's (Client) current situation towards its mission is analyzed, the goals, organizational structure, strategies, performances, the management (Client) expectations from ERP. This process also needs the presence of the Key personnel and managers of the organization to create an awareness of what is the current situation of the organization.

The second step involved is the Formulation of the Goals. this is the process where the Organization's future objective and wants through ERP will be discussed, in this process, the managers from different department will be involved to get ideas on their expectation from the ERP, etc.,

The third step involves analyzing the External environment. This step is mostly done by the client's side and the ERP implementation team will help the organization in suggesting the trend followed in the external market, by involving a team of expertise in particular industry or Domain to make the organization help in analyzing the external trend and methods.

The fourth step involves the analyzing of the internal environment; this process is done by the client as well as the ERP implementation team in examining the internal resources of the organization, and its strengths and weakness.

The fifth step involves the identification of strategic opportunities and threats.  ERP team will prepare a Business Analysis document based on the inputs given by the Client organization, and the Document will be a made as an comparative one, with differentiating the AS IS (current processes and methods followed by the client), and the GAP fit points based on the current client process, the current ERP and the organization's expectation from ERP, then the To Be document, This will have the final plan and processes/ methods and new strategies which will be implemented in the ERP for the company.

This planned document will be the guide for the ERP implementation process, Based on every progress in the implementation process the document will serve as a reference to review the progress, to know the planned versus actual.
